THE JEWEL AS A LANGUAGE

I believe jewellery can be much more than an ornament.
It can become memory. It can become architecture. It can become movement. It can become sculpture.
My practice begins with the desire to transform an idea into matter and to find, through form, a balance between art, design and emotion.

I am interested in what happens when seemingly distant languages enter into dialogue:
  • Nature and architecture
  • Matter and light
  • Fragility and permanence
  • Intuition and precision
Every project begins with a form, a symbol, a memory or a suggestion.I am not simply seeking to create something precious.

I seek to give form to something that did not exist before.

It is the language from which I began.

For this reason, jewellery can be worn, but it can also be observed, preserved and contemplated.

It can leave the body and enter space. It can become a sculpture, an object, an architectural element, a small universe.

Jewellery is therefore not the final destination of my research.

Today, that language expands. From art jewellery to sculpture, from precious objects to collectible design, I explore the increasingly subtle boundary between art, jewellery and design.

Because perhaps the question is no longer simply:

What can the body wear?

But also:

What could space wear?
